PPG Industries'coil and extrusion coatings group will exhibit an improved line of DURANAR coatings during the GREENBUILD International Conference and Expo in booth 1827S at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco,Nov.14-15.

One of the industry's most specified 70%fluoropolymer coating brands,Duranar coatings are now reformulated and enhanced with a lead-free composition, improved solar reflectance index(SRI),expanded color range, optimized primer and other upgrades.Duranar coatings are available in liquid and powder formulations, each offering unique performance characteristics that appeal to design and specifying architects.

Liquid Duranar coatings offer appearance advantages, with mica and metallic effects, and they apply smoothly.Powder Duranar coatings create very hard abrasion-and scratch-resistant finishes suitable for high-traffic-area applications. Also, because they are made without solvents,Duranar powder coatings emit virtually no VOCs(volatile organic compounds).

PPG also will highlight the ULTRA-COOL coatings line, which now includes Duranar Ultra-Cool coatings and DURASTAR SMP Ultra-Cool coatings.

Formerly known as SUPERL II Ultra-Cool coatings,Durastar SMP Ultra-Cool coatings are a value-oriented silicone-modified polyester(SMP)alternative to Duranar Ultra-Cool coatings, which are based on a 70%fluoropolymer resin. All Ultra-Cool coatings by PPG,including color-shifting Duranar VARI-COOL coatings, are formulated with PPG's proprietary infrared-reflective coating technology, which deflects heat from buildings to keep them cooler and enables them to use less energy.
